The Kasumigaseki Foreign Service Association (KaFSA), established in 1940, is an organization comprising both retired and current foreign service officers. Affiliated with Japan’s Foreign Ministry, the KaFSA aims to support Japan’s diplomatic activities by fostering a deeper understanding of Japan’s foreign policy, both within and outside the nation, and a broader understanding of the international situation among the public. To achieve these objectives, it organizes a series of lectures, publications, and exchange programs.
In 2025, the KaFSA celebrated its 85th anniversary. Following this milestone, we reconfirmed our mission. The KaFSA will further intensify its efforts to deliver messages to the international community through this website.
The current international situation is hugely challenging, marked by the continued aggression in Ukraine, the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, the evolving security environment in East Asia, and the free trade system in flux. Never has diplomacy been expected to play a bigger role than it is today. Under these circumstances, the KaFSA is committed to playing its part in addressing these challenges.
We are grateful for your continued support of our activities.
